With the increased number of cases of the coronavirus, we are committed to the health and well-being of our clients/partners and community. We’ve had a number of requests via email, text, and phone regarding ways to keep facilities clean and employees as free from exposure as possible. Many clients have requested weekly deep cleanings which we generally perform on a daily basis in our medical facilities. However, as I often tell many of you, it takes a village.
Daily maintenance of your busy buildings is an absolute necessity. It is of the utmost importance to keep high touch areas disinfected. These include, but are not limited to doorknobs, restrooms, kitchen/cafeteria areas, elevator buttons, customer counters, and the like.
Here are some tips to be proactive in order to keep your employees, customers, and business healthy:
Prepare your employees. The CDC recommends that, “during a Covid-19 outbreak, all sick employees should stay home and away from the workplace, respiratory etiquette and hand hygiene should be encouraged, and routine cleaning of commonly touched surfaces should be performed regularly.” If your business has employees, explore policies and practices to prevent exposure. Help direct them to official resources (such as the CDC) as it relates to the coronavirus (link is below).
Share your plan with customers. To alleviate concerns, per the SBA, consider sharing what measures you are taking in the interest of your business’s health. Display your plan at your business location and/or on your marketing channels, such as e-mail, website, or social media.
Identify help in your community. The CDC also states, “coordination with state and local health officials is strongly encouraged for all businesses.” Local authorities will have a pulse on neighborhood conditions and will be able to respond quickest in a time of need. Take the time now to learn about plans in place in your communities and share yours.
Update your business plan. Amend your plan to deal with disruptions to your regular business operations.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation shares best practices to handle potential business interruptions in times like these. Be ready to implement new strategies to safeguard your employees, customers, and business partners as best you can.
Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic we have been bombarded with numerous questions and requests. Coronavirus cleaning is not your ordinary clean. With the uptick in cases here in the US we’ve adapted our general cleaning practices to help ensure your facility stays as clean as possible. However, deep cleans are highly recommended for every facility. Below is a link to the Center for Disease Control website relating to the nuances of the virus. A lot of misinformation is being disseminated and we highly recommend that you filter your news and base your decisions on facts, not opinions.

If we have not already discussed this issue and you feel your facility may need additional services during this time please let me know and we can discuss your specific needs and a plan to address them. As always, if you have any questions or feedback, please don’t hesitate to let me know!
Thank you,
Scott
